Asurion Expands Operations in the Philippines, Adding 500 Jobs in Cebu

US-based tech care company Asurion announces new contact center in Cebu City, furthering its investments in the Philippines.
On June 5, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines confirmed that Asurion, a prominent US-based technology care company, is set to expand its operations by opening a new contact center in Cebu City.

This initiative is expected to generate at least 500 new jobs for Filipino workers within the year.

The announcement was made by Asurion’s General Counsel, Grant Mullins, during a meeting with the DTI’s Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Washington D.C. (PTIC-WDC), where Commercial Counselor Kenneth Yap and Minister and Consul Hans Siriban were also present.

This expansion will support Asurion’s growing demand in the US market, where the company currently provides smart device insurance, technical support, and repair services to more than 100 million customers across one in three households.

Asurion has maintained a presence in the Philippines for 16 years, operating across multiple locations including Manila, Clark, Laguna, and Iloilo.

The Philippine sites handle functions such as software development, mobile phone remanufacturing, and call center operations, employing a significant number of skilled workers.

Mullins commented on the favorable investment climate in the Philippines, particularly highlighting the support from the current Marcos administration.

Asurion recently concluded staffing for its expanded call center at the Clark Freeport Zone, which is expected to create additional employment opportunities.

According to Yap, the Philippines serves as Asurion's only facility outside the United States for cell phone remanufacturing.

This facility has employed approximately 1,400 technicians focused on the repair of iPhones.

Since initiating operations in the Philippines in 2009, Asurion has refurbished and shipped over 10 million iPhones to the US market.

With the addition of the Cebu operation, Asurion's total workforce in the Philippines is projected to reach around 8,000 employees.

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Asurion has become the largest tech care organization globally, offering protection and repair services for an extensive array of smart devices.

It serves over 300 million customers worldwide and collaborates with major global brands including Amazon, Samsung, and Verizon.

The DTI remains committed to engaging with global industry leaders to position the Philippines as a prime destination for technology investments, job creation, and sustainable economic partnerships.
