A 21-year-old drug suspect faces charges after police seizes ₱9.75 million worth of marijuana in Camarines Sur.
In a significant law enforcement operation on Sunday night, a 21-year-old man was apprehended in Brgy.
Maydaso, Milaor, Camarines Sur, for allegedly selling marijuana online.
The suspect, identified by the alias 'Reymark', was found to be in possession of approximately 61 bricks of high-grade marijuana with an estimated street value of ₱9.75 million.
The operation was conducted by personnel from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-5, marking what local authorities have described as their largest drug bust in the Bicol region this year.
Reymark, listed as a high-value individual on the regional drug watchlist, has been charged with violations under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Prior to the raid, law enforcement had been monitoring Reymark's online drug selling activities via his private
Facebook page.
Upon pinpointing his exact location, a coordinated anti-drug operation was launched by the Milaor Municipal Police Station, the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office, the Office of Deputy Regional Director for Operations, and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit.
As the operatives executed the raid, they discovered a meticulously organized stash of illegal drugs.
The seized items included 61 bricks of dried marijuana wrapped in black plastic, 74 vacuum-sealed sachets containing marijuana flower tops, and four rolls of marijuana, all arranged in a metal cabinet used for display.
Authorities estimated the total weight of the seized marijuana bricks at 80 kilograms, alongside an additional 10 vacuum-sealed sachets of hybrid marijuana, known as 'kush', weighing 100 grams, valued at approximately ₱150,000.
Brig. Gen. Andre Perez Dizon, the regional director of PRO-5, commended his team for their diligent efforts in combating drug-related activities in the region.
This operation highlights ongoing concerns regarding online drug trafficking, particularly among younger individuals in the Philippines.
