Recent Shooting Incidents in Laguna and Quezon; Multiple Arrests in Anti-Drug Operations

Two shootings result in fatalities while police operations yield significant drug seizures and arrests.
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Two individuals were killed in separate shooting incidents that occurred in Laguna and Quezon on Friday.

In Laguna, a 68-year-old man, known by the alias 'Vin', was shot in the stomach by a lone gunman in front of his residence in Lakeville 2, Barangay Sinalhan, Sta.

Rosa City, around 11:00 AM. The assailant, accompanied by an accomplice, fled towards Poblacion in Sta.

The police have identified an individual by the alias 'Pido' as a person of interest in the case.

Meanwhile, in Quezon, a 33-year-old worker, identified as 'Glenn', was fatally shot while doing laundry outside his home in Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City, at approximately 10:00 PM. The police reported that Glenn had recently been released from detention and was known to be involved in drug trafficking as well as a suspect in a series of thefts in Lucena City.

In Bulacan, five wanted persons, including a Most Wanted Person at the city level, were arrested during separate manhunt operations.

PCol. Franklin Estoro, Officer-in-Charge of the Bulacan police, reported that a tracker team from the San Jose Del Monte Police Station served a warrant of arrest to a suspect known as 'Ward', 40, at 3:40 PM on June 12. The warrant, issued for violations of the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, had a recommended bail of PHP 300,000.

Also arrested were four additional suspects involved in various criminal cases, including robbery, attempted homicide, rape, and violations of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.

In related anti-drug operations, authorities from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the PNP-Cavite Maritime Police arrested two individuals described as high-value drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in a mall parking lot in Barangay Molino IV, Bacoor City, Cavite, yielding approximately PHP 6.8 million worth of shabu.

The suspects, 'Khalil', 30, a farmer, and 'Jamal', 19, unemployed, were apprehended with around 1,000 grams of suspected shabu and buy-bust money.

Further drug-related incidents included the arrest of a 32-year-old woman in Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte, during an entrapment operation where she was charged with selling PHP 2.2 million worth of shabu.

The operation took place on June 13, 2025, and was supported by local officials.

Additionally, in Polomolok, South Cotabato, police apprehended a male narcotics dealer who was found with PHP 7.1 million worth of shabu after being under surveillance.

Lastly, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested two female pimps in Bulacan for trafficking, resulting in the rescue of 11 women, including four minors, who were being offered for sexual services.

The arrests occurred after a surveillance operation was conducted in collaboration with Destiny Rescue Philippines, Inc.
