In Toronto, Canada, three Filipino-Canadian children, aged between 6 and 15, lost their lives following a tragic vehicular accident on May 18. The victims, identified as Ramone, Jace, and Maya Lavina, were reportedly passengers in a vehicle that was struck by a silver Dodge Caravan, allegedly driven by a 19-year-old man under the influence of alcohol.

The incident occurred on the eastbound off-ramp from Highway 401 to Renforth Drive, according to the Toronto Police.

The driver of the Caravan now faces various charges in connection with the crash.

In a separate incident in Polangui, Albay, Philippines, two drivers have died and over 15 others sustained injuries after a collision between a refrigerated truck and a bus.

The crash happened on the Maharlika National Highway on May 18, as the truck, carrying ice and heading towards Sorsogon City, lost control after a tire blowout.

The bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction towards Metro Manila, was struck as a result.

The drivers of both vehicles, identified as Ricky and Dante, died at the scene.

Emergency responders, including local disaster response teams and police, attended to the injured passengers, who were taken to multiple hospitals for treatment.

Traffic was severely impacted in both directions due to the accident alongside ongoing roadwork.

Additionally, in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, an accident involving a jeepney left 11 passengers injured when the vehicle flipped after falling into a deep pothole.

This incident occurred on May 17, when the jeepney, driven by Ian Mula, 49, lost power on a curve and veered off the road.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the passengers were primarily minor, with three individuals requiring hospitalization.

The driver later surrendered to local authorities.
