Over 230,000 PNP Personnel Receive Mid-Year Bonus

Over 230,000 PNP Personnel Receive Mid-Year Bonus

Philippine National Police announces distribution of mid-year bonuses totaling over ₱7.7 billion.
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced that a total of 230,925 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel have received their mid-year bonus, equating to one month of their basic salary.

This bonus is granted to personnel who have served at least four months from July 1 of the previous year to May 15 of the current year and who continue to be in active service.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) allocated ₱7,726,103,239 for this initiative, with the funds directly credited to the Landbank ATM payroll accounts of eligible personnel.

PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, emphasized the importance of these bonuses in maintaining high morale within the force.

He stated, "The mid-year bonus is a recognition of the dedication and faithful service of our police and non-uniformed personnel.

Under the leadership of our President, this is a concrete step to elevate their morale and support their continued service to the nation."

Chief Marbil clarified that personnel facing unresolved administrative or criminal charges remain eligible to receive the mid-year bonus, except in cases where they are proven guilty through a final and executory judgment.

If a personnel member receives a reprimand as a penalty, they retain their eligibility for the bonus.

He added that the distribution of the mid-year bonus exemplifies the government's ongoing support for the PNP and reinforces the commitment of law enforcement personnel to their duties of serving and protecting the Filipino people.

In addition, the DBM announced that mid-year bonuses for all qualified government employees, encompassing civilian, military, and uniformed personnel, will commence distribution starting May 15. Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman confirmed that a total of ₱63.695 billion has been allocated for the mid-year bonuses for 2025, with ₱47.587 billion designated for civilian personnel and ₱16.108 billion for military and uniformed personnel.

The funds for these bonuses were reportedly released to all implementing agencies in January 2025. Pangandaman urged government agencies and local government units (LGUs) to ensure the timely distribution of these bonuses to their employees.

The DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2 outlines that to qualify for the mid-year bonus, employees must have worked at least four months between July 1 of the previous year and May 15 of the current year, and must also have received a satisfactory performance rating during the applicable appraisal period.

The mid-year bonus applies to all civilian employees across various government branches, including constitutional offices, government-owned and/or -controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, and LGUs.

Among the military and uniformed personnel eligible for this bonus are members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and personnel from the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Coast Guard, and various departments associated with government service.
