Actor Jason Abalos seeks to change his outdated picture on the Commission on Elections voter ID list following the recent midterm elections.
Actor Jason Abalos made a lighthearted request to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) regarding the outdated photograph on his official voter ID. In a post on his
Facebook page, Abalos shared a photo of himself from the Comelec’s registered voter list, noting that his appearance has significantly changed since the picture was taken in his youth.
In his post, Abalos asked, "COMELEC, can I change the picture on my voter ID?" He humorously recounted that during the time the photo was taken, he idolized basketball player Dirk Nowitzki and was often seen wearing a Dallas Mavericks jersey while playing in the plaza.
Additionally, he mentioned that he had not yet established a concrete direction in his life at that point.
Abalos further expressed a wish that voters had been informed that their photographs would be displayed publicly.
"I wish we were told that they would post it; we could have prepared for it," he quipped in the comments.
Many netizens responded to his post with relatable humor, with one commenter joking about appearing as if they had been involved in a historical battle, while another remarked on an uncanny resemblance to fellow politician Benhur Abalos.
As per the partial unofficial results released at 3:12 PM on the day of the midterm elections, Jason Abalos was in second place among candidates for provincial board member in the 2nd district of Nueva Ecija, with 101,971 votes.
He previously held a position as a board member of the same district under the PDP-Laban party, having won in a prior election.
