At least four Filipino nationals were reported injured and hospitalized following a retaliatory airstrike by Iran on Israel, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Philippines.

DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega confirmed on Sunday that the injured individuals are from Rehovot, a city located approximately 20 kilometers south of Tel Aviv.

De Vega stated that there was uncertainty regarding whether the Filipinos were in a park or outside their residences at the time of the attack, which involved missiles fired by Iran.

Additionally, twelve more Filipino individuals were present in a park when the missile struck the area.

The Philippine Embassy in Israel reported that one Filipina lost her home due to missile strikes that impacted Ramat Gan, situated to the west of Tel Aviv.

The embassy noted that she was unharmed because she was inside a bomb shelter when the missile hit.

Consequently, she has been temporarily relocated to a hotel in Tel Aviv due to significant damage to her residence.

The embassy has indicated plans to provide further assistance, including psychosocial support, to the affected Filipina in the following days.

Furthermore, the Philippine Embassy is reviewing the necessity of implementing voluntary or mandatory repatriation for Filipinos in Israel in the coming days.

As of now, it is estimated that there are around 30,000 Filipinos residing in Israel.

Amidst the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, Senator Francis Tolentino expressed concerns over potential increases in consumer prices within the Philippines, predicting rises in fuel and other commodity prices.

He highlighted the necessity of adjusting worker wages to mitigate the effects of rising costs due to the regional conflict.

Tolentino emphasized that the impacts of the war would be felt uniformly across different regions in the Philippines, underscoring the global nature of the economic implications.
