Emperador Inc. has reported a 6.5% increase in net income for the first quarter of 2025, bringing the total to ₱1.85 billion.

This improvement follows a recent decline in earnings and coincides with the company's strategic efforts to expand its global presence over the next five years.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Emperador announced plans to enhance its vineyard portfolio in Spain, acquiring an additional 470 hectares of farmland.

The company is also set to expand its operations in Mexico and is in the process of doubling its distillery capacity in Scotland.

Winston Co, President and CEO of Emperador, expressed confidence in the ongoing expansions in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Mexico as vital steps toward achieving the company’s ambitious global aspirations.

The expansion in Spain is expected to significantly enhance Emperador's grape farming capacity, which is currently approximately 17 million kilos per annum.

Notably, the company's flagship product, Terry Centenario Brandy, has experienced a volume growth of 7% and a value growth of 10.8% during the first quarter, as indicated by consumer consumption data.

Despite a 6.3% decline in the overall spirits market in Spain, Emperador's performance suggests a robust demand for its products.

In Mexico, Emperador's acquisition of Casa Pedro Domecq has strengthened its position in the local liquor market.

The newly acquired mezcal brands, Los Danzantes and Alipus, are anticipated to launch in the Philippines this year.

These brands rank among the top 10 best-selling and trending mezcal brands, reflecting the growing popularity of mezcal, which experienced a 6% annual growth from 2017 to 2022.

The expansion efforts also include significant developments in the UK, where the company is enhancing The Dalmore distillery in Alness, Scotland.

This project aims to double the distillery's production capacity and offer an improved visitor experience.

Additionally, the whisky maturation complex at Invergordon distillery is set to expand from 45.4 hectares to 92 hectares, which will accommodate an extra 1.5 million casks of maturing whisky.

Emperador’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Whyte & Mackay, continues to play a crucial role in the company’s strategy to meet the increasing global demand for single malt whiskies.
