Terrence Romeo, a prominent figure in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), has acknowledged receiving offers to play abroad but has made it clear that his preference is to continue his career in the PBA for the time being.

This statement comes as Romeo is in the process of recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out of competition in the ongoing conference.

As a three-time scoring champion, Romeo is currently under an expiring contract with the Terrafirma Dyip, which will conclude in August, subsequently making him a free agent.

He expressed gratitude towards the PBA, stating that it significantly shaped his career.

"Main priority ko siyempre is PBA kasi ang laki ng utang ko sa liga, dyan ako nagstart eh," Romeo stated, emphasizing his loyalty to the league despite international interest.

Historically, South Korea and Japan have been popular destinations for Filipino basketball players seeking opportunities abroad.

However, Romeo noted that the allure of potentially lucrative contracts outside the Philippines does not outweigh his desire to contribute to a PBA team.

Romeo stated, "Makipag usap kung mayroong interested, kung mayroon makakasundo, ‘yung makakatulong ako sa kanila, ‘yung mag titiwala sila sa akin," indicating his willingness to engage with teams that are interested in his services.

The player expressed confidence in his abilities, recalling past successes, including winning the Finals MVP under head coach Leo Austria at San Miguel.

He asserted, "Kailangan mo lang naman ng taong magtitiwala sa capability mo.

Kung wala talaga from there, wala tayong magagawa," suggesting that his next steps depend on the interest of PBA teams.
